Friends of Calgary Bay
Situated at the northwest corner of the beautiful and accessible Isle of Mull, Calgary Bay is known to many as one of the finest beaches in Scotland – and, some would add, in the world. The bay is home to a small but vibrant island community, as well as to a dazzling, but vulnerable, array of flora and fauna. Not surprisingly, Calgary is a highly popular destination for visitors to Mull.

The Friends of Calgary Bay (FOCB), established in 2005, is a local community group that is dedicated to preserving this beautiful bay for the enjoyment of this for future generations.

Friends of Aros Park
Aros Park offers a fine mosaic of experiences. There are wonderful views of Tobermory and Calve Island, and over the Sound of Mull to the cragged faces of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. The park forms an important key to the cultural heritage of the area. Many remnants of its past, as the hub of Aros Estate, are still found hidden in secluded areas around the park. It is attractive at any time of year, with the warm glows of autumn, to the hard greys of winter, to the fresh flushes of spring.

Aros Park is very much a community facility and residents of Tobermory feel as though it is an extension of their own garden.

Friends of Aros Park was set up in the late 1990’s and is a way for members of the community to get involved in the management of the Park and to get out there and physically help to maintain and enhance the park. The Friends have been involved in footpath development and maintenance, tree planting, were fundamental in the installation of the wooden play equipment trail and this year will be involved in the clearing out and restoration of the old dog kennels near the North Lodge.

Friends of the Lighthouse Path
The Lighthouse path in a way is a mirror image of the coastal path to Aros Park, stretching north to the Rubha na Gall Lighthouse. It offers very scenic views over to Morvern, Ardnamurchan, Calve and down the Sound of Mull. Sadly it does not have a single organisation responsible for its maintenance. The Friends of the Lighthouse Path, who are actually all Friends of Aros Park do help to do minor maintenance on the path such as cutting back vegetation, scrapping off mud and putting in drainage of lets. We are hoping to get funding to make major improvements to this path as it is a very popular walk from Tobermory.
