Welcome to the home of Mull Renewables
- a committee of residents eager to implement and promote more
sustainable ways of living, here on Mull & Iona.

News:
We organised a very successful Renewables Fair
at the Craignure Hall on the
Isle of Mull in February. It was FREE, with loads of helpful
advice on how to reduce energy bills. To find out more click

Mull Renewables has successfully linked
up with the Community
Powerdown initiative funded by the Scottish
Governments Climate Challenge Fund. The main objective of
Mull Renewables is to provide information to local residents
about options available. Each month or so, we try to publish
articles written by or about local residents who are using current
technologies in their homes or businesses on Mull & Iona.
These can be found in the Mull
Renewables Document Library.
The Mull & Iona Community Trust will
receive funding of almost £60,000. This has enable us
to employ a part time 'Renewable Energy Champion'
for the next 2½ years who will be able to assist local
residents and community groups with selecting appropriate
technologies for their buildings and also how to reduce their
carbon emission by other means. The new Powerdown Officer is
Tim Capper.
The funding also means that events will
be held around Mull & Iona to make information
as widely available as possible, and energy audits will be carried
out so that households and village halls can see how they
are reducing their carbon footprint. We hope to publish more
details in the coming weeks so watch this space.
We now have a new short guide
to funding opportunities available for renewables.
