Through the White Tailed
Eagle Viewing Project and the M.E.S.S Project, the Mull &
Iona Community Trust in association with various partners are
able to distribute funds back into the Community to support
the work of local good causes.
The White Tailed Eagle Viewing Project:
The White Tailed Eagle Viewing Project raises funds from charges
and donations from the general public at the Loch Frisa viewing
hide. Funds are handed out in July and November so applications
must be received prior to these months if to be considered.
Applications received outwith these times will be considered
in the next round of funding.
The Mull Sea Eagle Partnership involves Scottish Natural Heritage,
Forestry Commission Scotland, RSPB Scotland, Strathclyde Police
and the Mull & Iona Community Trust.
"We got £200 from the Sea Eagle hide and we bought
a bird box and camera. We were pleased when a blue tit moved
in straight away. It was an egg-cellent surprise!"

The Mull Environmentally Sensitive Solutions M.E.S.S Project:
The MESS Project operates two charity shops 'Island Castaways'
as part of their commitment to reducing waste and encouraging
the re-use of unwanted items. Once the cost of the shops has
been met half will be retained to support other MESS Projects
and an equivalent sum is then passed on to other beneficiaries.
Any voluntary group based on Mull & Iona may apply to MESS
for support. Funds are handed out in June each year.
"Thanks to a generous grant from MESS, we were able to
cover the minibus hire & coaching fees for 9 junior golfers
at the World of Gold in Clydebank."
